Gravel bikes are becoming increasingly popular among cyclists. The advantages are obvious. They have a more comfortable geometry than racing bikes, are excellent off-road and are suitable for longer trips. However, conventional racing bike components reach their limits with these bikes. Therefore, Shimano has developed its own gear groups specifically for this type of bike.

There is a risk that the chain will jump off the sprockets, especially on bumpy surfaces. This can lead to nasty falls. This can be avoided with the Shimano Gravel rear derailleurs. A built-in stabilizer reliably prevents the chain from slapping and keeps everything in place. This can also be switched off when you are on asphalt roads

As you would expect from Shimano, shifting takes place quickly and precisely, with little finger force. Even under adverse conditions, the chain reliably switches from one sprocket to the other. In order to be able to adjust the rear derailleur optimally, it has its own adjustment screw, which can be used to adjust the tension of the Bowden cable

Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits closer to the frame. This slim, low-profile design not only looks good, but also protects the rear derailleur from damage or branches reaching into the path in the event of a fall
