The Mudhugger EVO Zip-Tie was introduced in 2021 and developed with the help of riders from the DH World Cup and EWS. It was designed based on the current FOX 36/38 and RockShox ZEB models to address the problem of collision between the fender and fork crown at full compression, which many other fenders have. It is also stiffer and offers more tire clearance than the original design. It is stable enough for DH use at the highest level. The length is optimized so that the fender is only as long as necessary to ensure the best protection, a slightly implied spoiler improves splash protection.

The Mudhugger Zip-Tie is compatible with most suspension forks, but in some cases requires minor modifications. For example, to mount the EVO on a Manitou Mezza or comparable models with reverse arch (bridge rear), four small holes must be drilled to allow attachment to the bridge. Please note the compatibility chart

Although mounting with cable ties is ideal for permanent mounting, it is also possible to mount the fender by means of a, optionally available Velcro fitting kit to be able to mount / dismount it easily. This also saves a little bit of plastic waste.

During the intensive cooperation with top riders and junior athletes, Schwalbe discovered that road racing cyclists seek a tire that not only suits high speeds and rolls easily, but also offers maximum suppleness or ‚souplesse‘. A tire that rides like a tubular tire. A tire that swiftly and accurately responds to a cyclist’s individual riding style and provides sensitive feedback at all times. A tire with “life”. Consequently, this allows higher performance for longer periods of time. A totally new feel. Right from the start. The new Schwalbe Pro One is not just another development step from the status quo, but a completely new solution. Inorder to create a unique product, new avenues needed to be explored.

THE CHALLENGE

The goal was to develop a fast, light-weight and safe tire, with the additional feature of maximum souplesse. A tire which sets new benchmarks.

TECHNOLOGY
SOUPLESSE CARCASS-CONSTRUCTION

Turn-up construction - this is what makes the tire so supple and comfortable. Riding this tire feels just like the velvety motion of a classic tubular tire.

V-GUARD PUNCTURE PROTECTION BELT

The liner is made of a specifi cally developed high-tech polymer fi bre that is also used for bullet-proof and anti-stab vests. It provides excellent protection from cuts and punctures, and at the same time, it is extremely light-weight. Neither rolling resistance nor tire suppleness are compromised by the V-guard. A 14 mm wide belt protects the total tread area, and thus provides an extremely high level of puncture protection. In addition, a triple layer side wall reliably protects against cuts.

ADDIX RACE COMPOUND

Completely new formulation. Addix Race is a multi-compound made of the most innovative and highest quality proven polymers. Because silica fi ller contents were increased signifi cantly, the mixing process also had to be fi ne-tuned. Various specifi c blends are used for the centre and sides respectively. This increases the grip during cornering without compromising rolling resistance or durability.

MANUFACTURING
To ensure consistent high quality in our tires, we have put a strong emphasis on optimizing our manufacturing process. We have made large investments into innovative machinery and the training of our employees. The greatest precision and tightest production tolerances are essential when making a product of the highest standard. This is the only way to ensure simple mounting, as well as a long life.

What’s the difference between this and Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser?

While Peaty's XXX Solvent Degreaser has been formulated to quickly and easily remove all bearing greases, waxes and oils, the Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser is formulated to only be aggressive on chain lubricants and everyday dirt and grime, but will not attack waterproof bearing greases.
