While the whole group sees engineering taken to new levels of ingenuity, the shining star of Eagle is undoubtedly the SRAM XG-1299 XX1 Eagle 12-Speed Cassette. Resplendent in its rainbow plated allure and boasting a massive inner cog that mirrors the size of a compact road crankset's big chainring, this cassette boasts 12 cogs and a 520% usable gear range. This eclipses the popular 10-42t, 420% one-by 11-speed range and rivals the average of 515% found in most doubles.
The Eagle 12-Speed Cassette encompasses that 10-42t cassette so commonly employed with 11-speed one-by drivetrains and adds a 52t bailout cog for those lung-crushing climbs that leave you breathlessly pleading for the cycling deities to fly out of the sky with an extra climbing gear. In short, Eagle gives you a one-by system with all the gear range you need to conquer leg-searing ascents and heart-dropping descents alike, without the finicky weight of a front derailleur or extra chainring.

The Gravel bikes are becoming increasingly popular among cyclists. The advantages are apparent. They have a more comfortable geometry than racing bikes, are also excellent off the paved roads and are suitable for a longer journey. However, the conventional racing bike components reach their limits with these wheels. Therefore, Shimano has developed its own switching groups especially for this genus.
The Gravel crank for the 1-speed fans comes in elegant design and with the Shimano typical excellent workmanship on the market. The chain line of 51.1 mm makes room for wide tires in the frame and optimally positions the chainring to the 11-speed cassette. Nevertheless, the Q-factor with 151 mm has remained in the green range. By grading the pinion block from 11-40 or 11-42 teeth, you can make speed in the plane, but also climb steep climbs easily.
Despite the fact that gravel enthusiasts have been growing exponentially over the past decade, technology for the gravel front stayed pretty stagnant. Sure, some trickle-down technology from the mountain bike side hit the road less traveled with disc brakes and tubeless tires, but until recently there hasn't been a designated groupset that hits the mark for gravel riding and racing. Fortunately Shimano puts a stop to that with its GRX line, and the GRX FC-RX810 1x Crankset offers a 1x application that strays away from the world of knobby, fat tires, and into gravel, rail trails, and old forgotten roads that take you to wild west towns and scenic vistas. This is significant for two reasons -- firstly, the fact that Shimano has dedicated so much time to gravel riders, but also because it's the first time Shimano offers a dedicated 1x crankset outside of their mountain bike lineup. For riders seeking the simplicity, reliability, and improved chain retention of a single-ring drivetrain on their gravel or all-road bike, look no further. As you might've guessed, it's designed to work with Shimano's GRX 11-speed gravel group. That being said, it would work just as well if you wanted to throw it on your existing bike that's already equipped with Shimano 11-speed road components. Shimano spent over two years getting feedback from gravel enthusiasts when developing the groupset that will ultimately tackle dirt and gravel roads and singletrack on drop-bar machines. Shimano XTR SL-M9100 Rapidfire Plus (Mono) shifting lever
The target of the Shimano XTR SL-M9100 shift lever's development was to enable the driver to react immediately to sudden changes caused by the track or the racing situation. In addition, the intuitive operation of the XTR 9100 handlebar elements has once again been significantly optimized, which can mean the decisive tenths of a second of advantage in racing. The special focus which the developers have placed on shifting ultimately benefits the driver by allowing him to focus away from the controls and completely on the racing action. In addition the developers have implemented shifting levers with significantly lower leverage and travel so that mountainbikers can operate their system intuitively and seamlessly with minimal finger movements.
With the I-Spec EV design Shimano shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever, what makes it possible to dispense with a clamp and significantly increase the adjustment range. I-Spec EV allows 14 mm for longitudinal and 60° for rotational adjustment so that each rider can make a setup to suit his or her individual anatomy or preferences.
Proven features such as Rapidfire Plus, 2-Way-, Instant- and Multi-Release have of course been adopted by the SL-M9100 shifting levers from its predecessor. The left Rapidfire Plus Mono gear lever for 2-speed systems is a completely new development in which both the large and small chainrings are shifted with just one lever. The lever is pressed forward with the thumb to shift up, but does not spring back afterwards as before, but remains locked in this position. To shift down to the small chainring, simply release this lock by pressing it again with your thumb or by pulling it with your forefinger.
Instant Release allows faster shifts as it instantly releases the cable when the trigger is activated.
Multi-Release (only at right lever) allows shifting four gears at once in both directions.
The levers are also equipped with 2-Way Release for different riding styles or shifting (indexfinger or thumb) from various riding positions. The upper lever still performs the same function, but now it swings both ways. Pull it with your finger or push it with your thumb - you choose.
This Shimano XT M786 Shadow+ 10 Speed Rear Mech provides more space around the rear frame dropout area, which results in easier rear wheel removal. The XT M786 Shadow+ 10-Speed Rear Mech comes with four fluorine-coated link pin bushings to provide super-slick shifting on the trails.

About Headsets
A bicycle headset attaches the fork to the frame, they consist of bearings and races which allow the forks steerer to move within the frames headtube. There are a few types of headset, these are threaded and ahead. Threaded headsets are the older type and use a thread on the forks steerer to adjust, an ahead type has no thread and uses a top cap to adjust the tension. Ahead headsets come in three options, external cup, internal and integrated. Integrated and internal headsets use bearings which fit inside the headtube and provide clean lines, whereas the external cup system uses cups which fit into the frame but are still visible. Most will use cartridge bearings which last well and have very low maintenance requirements, one thing worth doing is to switch the top and bottom bearing periodically, as the bottom bearings are more prone to wear as they support the weight of the bike and rider.
