With the M9100 XTR crank, Shimano is taking a big step forward in several aspects. Probably the most outstanding innovation: The M9100 is designed for direct mount chainrings. Thanks to the special DCE + Narrow Wide profile of the teeth and the Hyperglide + chain design, the 52 millimeter offset of the chainrings is suitable for both BOOST and standard rear hubs. Matching direct mount chainrings with 30 to 38 teeth are available. For riders who are looking for a broader range without wanting to forego the advantages of the narrowly graduated 10-45 cassette, Shimano also offers a suitable 1 or 2-speed chainring-spider combination.
When assembling the crank, Shimano continues to rely on the proven Hollowtech-2 technology with a 24 millimeter crankshaft. By optimizing the design of the current generation of the cold-forged aluminum crank, weight could be further saved and the rigidity increased at the same time. The XTR crank with a Q-factor of 162 millimeters (FC-M9100) or Q-factor of 168 millimetres to meet the different intended use and preferences of bikers.

Hyperglide+ / HG+
Hyperglide+ is the efficient further development of the Hyperglide system by Shimano. These are shifting aids and specially shaped sprocket teeth that make shifting to larger or smaller sprockets suppler, smoother and quieter. The system of small rivets and ramps machined or pressed into the side of the sprocket ensures that the chain is taken along by the next sprocket before it leaves the previous sprocket. Hyperglide+ is optimised for faster shifting and shifting under load and, in combination with an HG+ chain, has more efficient chain connection, retention force and power transmission. Compared to Hyperglide, the shifting time is reduced by one third and the pedal stroke is noticeably reduced. It enables completely new chain stability and thus offers a safe riding experience even on the roughest terrain.
Micro Spline
Micro Spline is the name of the latest tooth profile on Shimano freehub bodies. All Shimano 12-speed cassettes with a 10-speed sprocket are equipped with Micro Spline freehub toothing. The significantly higher and finer toothing enables a stiffer connection between the cassette and the hub body. The resulting increased contact area ensures reliable power transmission, minimises wear and prevents deformation of the freehub and sprocket.

The Shimano Deore crankset FC-M6100-1 is for 12-speed drivetrains and comes with a single chainring for direct mounting. Ease of use, reliability and quick chainring changes are the main advantages of such a set-up. The Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology, which was previously used on the SLX, for example, ensures that the chain runs securely, smoothly and quietly over the teeth. The chainline, i.e. the distance between the frame and the chainring, is 52 mm for this model, making it compatible with 142 mm and 148 mm over locknut dimensions. Last but not least, the FC-M6100-1 scores with its metallic look including colour gradient in the Deore logo and with the 2-piece design, which ensures a balanced ratio of stiffness and weight.

RAPIDFIRE PLUS has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. RAPIDFIRE PLUS is still the first choice for a wide range of riders, from XC racers to freeriders and downhillers. RAPIDFIRE PLUS is suitable for fast switching. The driver can shift down by up to three gear steps with one shift. All RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifters, from SHIMANO DEORE to XTR, are equipped with 2WAY-RELEASE (release in two directions). This means that the shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pressing with the thumb.

The rigidity of the crankset ensures pedaling efficiency while its weight, a key element of the crankset, you want light, aids in cycling longer distances over which the rider needs to pedal more. Shimano SLX SL-M7100-I Rapidfire Plus shifting lever
The Shimano SLX SL-M7100 shift lever is characterized by its simple and smooth-running operation so that the driver can concentrate solely on the trail ahead. Compared to its predecessor, the SL-M7000, the shifting operation force could be reduced by 35 % while the main lever access is now 20 % faster thanks to a clever design. In addition, the lever's rubberized contact surface ensures maximum ergonomics.
The I-Spec EV construction already familiar from the XTR M9100 and Deore XT M8100 has also found its way into the SLX M7100 components. With this technology the shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever, what makes it possible to dispense with a clamp and to significantly increase the adjustment range. I-Spec EV allows 14 mm for longitudinal and 60° for rotational adjustment so that each rider can make a setup to suit his or her individual anatomy or preferences.
Proven features such as Rapidfire Plus, 2-Way- and Instant-Release have of course been adopted by the SL-M7100 shifting levers from its predecessors.
The Shimano SLX RD-M7100-SGS rear derailleur provides fast and precise shifting operations over a wide gear range. Guide and tension pulleys with 13 teeth and a rubber damper reduce noise and increase ride comfort. They also improve the chain's grip under all conditions.

The Shimano SLX CS-M7100 cassette features the Hyperglide+ technology which guarantees high shifting speed, precision and smoothness when shifting up and down and contributes to an extremely quiet drivetrain.
The 10-51 teeth cassette covers a wide gear range and has an aluminium spider construction. The largest sprocket is made of aluminium as well. This not only reduces the weight, but improves also robustness and longevity.

Rapidfire Plus has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. Rapidfire Plus is still the first choice for a wide range of riding groups, from Cross Country racers to Freeriders and Downhillers. Rapidfire Plus is suitable for fast shifting. The rider can shift down up to three gears with one shift stroke. All new Rapidfire Plus shift levers, from XTR to Deore LX, are equipped with 2-Way Release. This means that the shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pressing with the thumb.

Instant Release
Instant Release shifting replaces the two-stage click and release shifting you are familiar with. Instant Release shifting releases cable as soon the lever is activated, resulting in the quickest possible gear changes. Whether it is an upshift with a top normal rear derailleur or a downshift with low normal rear derailleur a quicker shift is always a better shift.
Multi Release
Previous shifting systems shifted faster in one direction than the other. Choosing top normal or low normal always meant sacrificing shifting speed in one direction. Now with Multi Release you can release shift two gears in one stroke. The result - the fastest possible shifting in both directions regardless of rear derailleur choice.

Shimano XTR SL-M9100 Rapidfire Plus (Mono) shifting lever
The target of the Shimano XTR SL-M9100 shift lever's development was to enable the driver to react immediately to sudden changes caused by the track or the racing situation. In addition, the intuitive operation of the XTR 9100 handlebar elements has once again been significantly optimized, which can mean the decisive tenths of a second of advantage in racing. The special focus which the developers have placed on shifting ultimately benefits the driver by allowing him to focus away from the controls and completely on the racing action. In addition the developers have implemented shifting levers with significantly lower leverage and travel so that mountainbikers can operate their system intuitively and seamlessly with minimal finger movements.
With the I-Spec EV design Shimano shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever, what makes it possible to dispense with a clamp and significantly increase the adjustment range. I-Spec EV allows 14 mm for longitudinal and 60° for rotational adjustment so that each rider can make a setup to suit his or her individual anatomy or preferences.
Proven features such as Rapidfire Plus, 2-Way-, Instant- and Multi-Release have of course been adopted by the SL-M9100 shifting levers from its predecessor. The left Rapidfire Plus Mono gear lever for 2-speed systems is a completely new development in which both the large and small chainrings are shifted with just one lever. The lever is pressed forward with the thumb to shift up, but does not spring back afterwards as before, but remains locked in this position. To shift down to the small chainring, simply release this lock by pressing it again with your thumb or by pulling it with your forefinger.
Instant Release allows faster shifts as it instantly releases the cable when the trigger is activated.
Multi-Release (only at right lever) allows shifting four gears at once in both directions.
The levers are also equipped with 2-Way Release for different riding styles or shifting (indexfinger or thumb) from various riding positions. The upper lever still performs the same function, but now it swings both ways. Pull it with your finger or push it with your thumb - you choose.

With the XTR XC FC-M9100 crank, Shimano introduces the Direct Mount principle, which adds rigidity, light weight and ease of use. The 12-speed compatible crank has a slightly narrower, race-ready Q-factor of 162 mm. As FC-M9100-1 it can be equipped with only one chainring (32T included ), which saves even more weight, which benefits the performance in cross-country use. But it can also be installed two chainrings, which then gives the FC-M9100-2, which is also available separately as a complete cranksetwould. The version with only one chainring can be driven with 52 mm chain line in frames with 142 mm and 148 mm pave width. The Shimano Saint FC-M820 comes as a crankset with a 34-tooth chainring. For many years it has been the reference in Downhill sport in terms of resilience and performance. With its steel axle, the strongest in the Shimano range, and its steel pedal inserts, it can withstand any ordeal. But the weight of the Saint was also taken into account, as its balanced Hollowtech II construction proves. The FC-M820 is compatible with 68 mm and 73 mm bottom bracket housings and can optionally be equipped with a special chain guide and bash guard.

What matters is the overall balance of the crankset. With regard to the entire crankset, an optimum ratio between the strength of the crankarms, the stiffness of the axle, the bearing position and other features is very important. During the development of the crankset, the overall balance of all individual elements was carefully considered in order to ensure maximum stability. Outer bearing: On most 68 mm bottom bracket shells, the Hollowtech II 24 mm axle can be mounted outside the frame for better weight distribution and stability. High-quality precision seals: The Hollowtech II set also features high quality precision seals in the bearing area to extend durability and maintain excellent rotation efficiency over time. The axle and the 24 mm diameter bearings ensure optimum balance of the crankset and optimum transmission of power to the bicycle.

The Gravel bikes are becoming increasingly popular among cyclists. The advantages are apparent. They have a more comfortable geometry than racing bikes, are also excellent off the paved roads and are suitable for a longer journey. However, the conventional racing bike components reach their limits with these wheels. Therefore, Shimano has developed its own switching groups especially for this genus.
The Gravel crank for the 1-speed fans comes in elegant design and with the Shimano typical excellent workmanship on the market. The chain line of 51.1 mm makes room for wide tires in the frame and optimally positions the chainring to the 11-speed cassette. Nevertheless, the Q-factor with 151 mm has remained in the green range. By grading the pinion block from 11-40 or 11-42 teeth, you can make speed in the plane, but also climb steep climbs easily.
Despite the fact that gravel enthusiasts have been growing exponentially over the past decade, technology for the gravel front stayed pretty stagnant. Sure, some trickle-down technology from the mountain bike side hit the road less traveled with disc brakes and tubeless tires, but until recently there hasn't been a designated groupset that hits the mark for gravel riding and racing. Fortunately Shimano puts a stop to that with its GRX line, and the GRX FC-RX810 1x Crankset offers a 1x application that strays away from the world of knobby, fat tires, and into gravel, rail trails, and old forgotten roads that take you to wild west towns and scenic vistas. This is significant for two reasons -- firstly, the fact that Shimano has dedicated so much time to gravel riders, but also because it's the first time Shimano offers a dedicated 1x crankset outside of their mountain bike lineup. For riders seeking the simplicity, reliability, and improved chain retention of a single-ring drivetrain on their gravel or all-road bike, look no further. As you might've guessed, it's designed to work with Shimano's GRX 11-speed gravel group. That being said, it would work just as well if you wanted to throw it on your existing bike that's already equipped with Shimano 11-speed road components. Shimano spent over two years getting feedback from gravel enthusiasts when developing the groupset that will ultimately tackle dirt and gravel roads and singletrack on drop-bar machines. It learned that rider's wanted the option of 1 setups, wide gear ranges with low enough gears to tackle tough climbs, and of course, reliability. The GRX FC-RX810 gives you all this, and works flawlessly with the rest of the GRX 11-speed lineup. It scales in a full 100-grams lighter than its RX600 counterparts, which does come with a slight jump in price, but we're willing to pay that counts as a bit less we have to carry over 200+ miles at Kanza.
